WHAT ARE PRIVATE DUTY SERVICES?
Private Duty Agencies, and Home Health Agencies who offer private duty services, provide personal care through Aides, Housekeepers and/or Personal Companions; to clients who either do not qualify for Home Health, or who do, but would like additional non-medical assistance. Personal care services are designed to help clients remain safe in their homes, and may include getting a person into/out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, general housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, shopping, running other errands and simply keeping company with clients who may otherwise be unsafe if left alone.
Though private duty/personal care services are not typically covered by insurances and have to be paid out-of-pocket, rates are generally considered to be very reasonable and services can be customized to meet a client’s budget and needs (e.g. hourly, shift or live-in care).
WHERE TO START
Because Private Duty is defined as personal or companionship care, and not health care, a Doctor's order is not required to access services.
